POOLHOUSE ADDITION IN WINE COUNTRY

New ownership of this Wine Country home called for moving the pool to better leverage the entire 1.17 acre parcel, and allow for the addition of a large pool house to comfortably host their guests over long weekends. The goals of the project were to provide cozy get away comfortable for an extended visit, yet rugged enough to tolerate poolside entertaining with children.
The solution was a bat and board finished, barn-style building with large barn doors and shutters. The pool deck concrete was continued straight through the house to handle wet feet and suits throughout the building. Shiplap surrounds the common area walls, and the outdoor living room can connect to the indoor TV room via the accordion window separating the two. Both bedrooms have direct access to bathrooms, and the 3rd bathroom is dedicated to the pool area offering both indoor and outdoor showering options. A custom trellis was built to shade the shallow end of the pool as well as the outdoor kitchen and bar area. Finally, a large storage area on the back of the building was included to assist in winterizing the pool area.
